Direct seed. Sow seeds in shallow rows about 1/4" deep after the threat of frost has passed. Once sprouted erect a trellis that the lima beans can climb, ideally at least 5 feet in height although they'll climb higher if allowed. Harvest pods when they turn tan and feel dry but before they start to pop open and shatter their seeds.
